Amazing Deal on a Desktop Tower

About a month or so ago, my computer decided to give it and die on me!  It was working fine when I went off to bed, but would not come on when I woke up in the morning!  It was awful, I have grown quite attached to my PC.

I asked my mom to borrow her laptop for a few days until I could get something else, but just didn't realize it would take so long to do so.  I got shorted hours at work and then didn't get a paycheck at all, but hopefully that is all fixed and everything will be back in order today!!  ((Hopefully))

I've been looking all over for a great deal on one, something preferably that I didn't have to come out of pocket all at once for... QVC had some awesome deals that allowed for 5 payments and a few other places as well; but I got a better deal than I ever thought possible!!!

I was looking on the Walmart website (http://www.walmart.com/) over the weekend at some personalized gift ideas for Christmas (I like those kids of gifts), and decided to search their towers.  I have a HUGE monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers; I just needed a new tower to run things.

They had so great prices on their laptops, but I really like my Desktop PC.  Looking at the towers and the best deals (rollbacks & online offers), I came across some refurbished towers that definitely met my price range at the moment!!

Sure, I wasn't big on the idea of a refurbished tower, but who can beat around $90??!!  No where that I found!

It's not over-flowing with features that I would love to have, but it has enough memory to last a while and it will allow me to do what I want; and with a 2 year warranty, just in case it does have issues.. I didn't think I'd ever get another deal closer!

Getting this tower dirt cheap, made me wonder has the desktop become that extinct that the prices could really be so low!?  I just couldn't believe the deal!!

I love a good deal, don't you?!  I plan to keep my eyes open towards the holidays for the online offers that I'll never see in the store!

M-I-A

Hello Everyone,

I am so sorry that I have been M-I-A  lately, there has been tons of stuff going on in my life that has kept me SO busy; and a few others that have kept me from blogging.  I promise that I will be more active in the future, thanks for sticking with me!

On top all the chaos with the company continuing to mess up my paycheck, kids returning to school, and all of the other normal life adventures... my computer decided to abandon me. :(  It just QUIT!!  No warnings, just stopped...  I guess it was just worn out.  Kinda like I have been feeling lately!

I've been spending a lot of time focusing on A New Me and not so much here, but I plan to make changes in that area!!  A New Me has grown A LOT, but we have been just blogging about everything there and not just the meant to be areas... it's all good, but hoping to bring a little bit of that here!

I have invited my co-owner of A New Me, Joanne, to join me blogging here.. I'm hoping she accepts because I have big ideas for the future...

Again, I apologize for not blogging more.  If all goes right, you all will be glad you hung around!  :)

What would you like to see being discussed here??  Give me some topic ideas!

Got the RIGHT prescription?

One of my pet-peeves is detail which in many cases is an annoyance (lol); however, sometimes it can be a blessing.. like it was today!

My mom is disabled and over the past couple of years her eyes have gotten worse; and she was messing up distributing her medication into the weekly slots, so I started doing it for her.  I didn't want her to not add medicines or add too much by mistake... medication isn't to be played with when you have health issues and allergies to some medications (or any other times for that matter)!

You have to understand that she takes A LOT of medication and this wouldn't be hard to do, and she's had a mix-up before that wasn't fun.  I keep all of the bottles, even if they are empty, when I call in refills so that I can verify that the dosage and everything match what she has been taking and if any are left I make sure the pill looks the same.... I have opened a the new bottle on multiple occasions to see a different pill.  Most of the time they put a label on the bottle letting you know that the color, size, or shape has changed so that you know.  However, I have called  before to be sure because there wasn't a label and I wanted to be sure that there had not been a mix-up.. after-all the people at the pharmacy are human too, we all make mistakes.

I went and picked up about 10 prescriptions on Monday for my mom, but he medicine dispenser was filled until this afternoon so I waited to fill it today.

As I was finishing her bottles with only 2 to go, I realized that one of her medicines had not been refilled... So, I looked at the bag to see if there was a note letting me know why they didn't fill it, but there wasn't one.  So, I picked up the other bottle to see if it was it.  It wasn't!

As I looked at this bottle there was no refill bottle to match and I didn't recognize the name of the medication... hmmm, weird!

So, I asked my mom if the doctor had put her on something new or changed one of her meds.  Usually I take her to doctors appointments, but once in a while my aunt does, so I wanted to ask.  As I waited for her to respond, I noticed that I didn't recognize the Doctor's name who prescribed the medication either... So, I got on the phone to the Pharmacy to see what was going on!!

I asked to speak to the pharmacist who had filled the medication, and explained that I didn't recognize the name of this medication nor the doctor who had prescribed it.  He asked for my moms information and then put me on hold briefly to see what was going on....

After returning to the phone, he explained to me that the hard copy of the prescription had been filed under the wrong name.. my moms!!  This was someone else's medication....

WOW!  I'm SO glad for my attention to detail and habit to always check these little things today!!

I know we all make mistakes, but this could have been very dangerous!!  I thought about all the older people and people who have trouble with their eyesight who distribute their own medicine and many of them would have just put in in the slot because they seen their name on it.

If they were allergic or have medical problems that could not have that medication with.. it would be BAD!!

So, PLEASE pay attention to your/or someone you love's prescription before giving/taking them because you never know when a mistake has been made!!  :)  Glad I caught ours!!

How will Aly Explode?

As some of you know, I am fan of The Bold and The Beautiful Soap Opera.  When I was a stay-at-home-mom I watched all the CBS Soap Operas, but after returning to work I didn't get to see them much and lost interest (this was before DVR).

Over the years I have watched here and there and stayed caught up the big events for the most part.  However, about 4 years ago I started back watching The Bold and The Beautiful because it is on when I was at work.

This was a good time since Liam had just gotten back with Hope and things were getting interesting!!

((Thinks haven't changed much with the love triangles during these 4 years ... Liam's still flip-flopping))

Steffy's back and him and Ivy seem to be already broken-up, yet they haven't had that talk... BUT Aly is about to spice things up and blow a top!!  I can't wait for some action on here... seems more like love connection that anything else lately.

I don't want Liam with Steffy, I want him with HOPE; but Kim Matula wanted to further her career & wish her luck!  However, I do wish she'd return permanently and blow him and Steffy out of the water!!!!

Rumors are stirring and according to this article (http://www.celebdirtylaundry.com/2015/the-bold-and-the-beautiful-spoilers-bb-kim-matula-returning-as-hope-logan-during-freedom-fashion-show/) Hope may make an appearance during Fashion Show week.... Hoping it is to show Steffy how confused Liam really is about who he wants to be with!!

OR.. will she be home because of what Aly does?  Other online spoilers are also hinting of return from Thomas & Thorne as well.

This week appears to be looking intense!!  I am hoping this is all true because I don't want another let down!  Things with Aly has been brewing for 3 weeks now, so the aftermath needs to as well!

A lot of time has been spent focused on sporting the Transgender Community and I hope that EQUAL time is spent reflecting  on her Mental Health (which is a huge problem in the world today)!

Hoping that next week is BIG showdown like the build up has been... and the previews look like it just might be!!!  Check out Monday's Preview and the one for this week coming up as well...

Next week on the B&B it appears that Aly is going to run Steffy down!!!  See preview at  http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_bold_and_the_beautiful/video/782665F3-E108-629D-2682-9D5BE5103051/the-bold-and-the-beautiful-personal-demons/

You were Born to Stand Out

Tonight I was trying to find an old picture, but since we swapped computers it was gone.  I went to Facebook looking through mine, my husbands, and then my daughter's pictures... This lead me down memory lane! (*tear)

This upcoming school year she will be a Senior in High School.  Wow, where did time go!!??  It was like I was taking a walk down memory lane, seeing pictures that I don't remember ever seeing.

... and I thought, My baby is growing up.  She will be venturing off into her own world in such a short time.  I'm not an emotional person, but this is so bittersweet.  I can't wait to see what the world has to offer her; she is so smart and I want everything to be great for her!!  BUT we all know that Life throws a few curve-balls and we need to be able to handle it (as best as possible that is).

I've been trying to put together a memory album for her, especially her High School years as she ends her journey through the easiest part of life,  as a reminder to cherish.  This is what really got me looking through her (& a lot of her friends) pictures.

So many lives changing...  Trying to find there way in what they want to be and how they want to live their lives as they become young adults.  I grown to love many of these kids like they were my own and I'm so proud of all of them.  I want them all to strive to be there best they can be and Stand Out!

This made me think of the  quote pages a friend from My Memories had made for her son whom was graduating from High School.. an awesome scrapbook with Life Advice from a Mother to a Son.

Back when I first started the Life's Weekly Quotes here .. I was lucky enough to get her approval of sharing a few as long as she wasn't tagged.. Didn't want him to see it!  It was such an awesome idea, love it.

As I read what she had wrote to him along the side of the page, she gave him strong, firm, and loving advice that any parent would give, fitting the Dr. Seuss quote perfectly!  Ending with his quote, "Why Fit in, when You were Born to Stand Out!"

I wish this for my daughter, her friends, and everyone reading this post!!  Be YOU!!  Strive to be the best person you can be, stand out from the crowd, and appreciate life everyday!!

Writing to ease the mind..

I love to talk, yet I often find it hard to say the right words when I need to, it is hard to express my feelings and thoughts in person often.  I used to write letters or write in a journal just to get my thoughts out there; and if I was having a issue with someone else, it was easier to write them a letter... whether I decided to give it to them or not!

When is the last time you wrote a letter?  Does it help you to communicate in writing?  Why?

I found this extremely helpful when I had heavy thoughts in my relationship, writing a letter to my husband was always the easiest way to say everything needed without being interrupted or sidetracked in some way.  Once my husband read the letter he was able to see my points of view; and then give me his honest thoughts as well.  Somehow this has been a key way of communication in our relationship and effective as well!

Writing is a way that allows us to express our selves like no other.  With no distractions in our thoughts, we are able to really get our true feelings out and look at things somewhat differently afterwards (in many cases).  It can be a stress relief in some ways as well; allowing us to be honest with the person we are writing to or to our selves.. even if we ball it up and toss it in the trash afterwards, we relieved the thoughts from our mind.

Writing to ease the mind can be helpful personally or in a relationship or any kind....  all we have to do is make the time!

Education in a Digital World

As I was skeptical at first, I agree with the points the speaker makes on Education in today's world! The video points out so many important reasons on why education needs to focus on new ways of learning, because the old ways don't work like they used to!!

Being/Becoming Transgender

There's been a lot of talk and shows moving focus towards being/becoming Transgender in the last few weeks/months; and I am not sure how I feel about it all, to be truthful!

I watch ONE Soap Opera, The Bold and The Beautiful, and recently they changed things up and made Maya a transgender woman.  Honestly, if they wanted to have a character that's transgender it's not a big deal, but making a character that already has a past/story thats been told wasn't the way to go... in my opinion.

and Rick's reaction was what is politically right somewhat.. not the typical reaction you would have gotten from him!!  ((If you watch the B&B, you know what I mean!))

They should have had a new character enter the show and show the life and transition, I think!!  However, I know that all the talk about Bruce Jenner revealing his transition into being a woman probably encouraged the B&B to do so.. maybe not, I don't know.

I believe that everyone should have the right to be happy and be whom ever they want to be in life!  If transitioning from Bruce to Caitlyn brings happiness, then I'm glad.  However, I am about tired of hearing about it every time I turn on the television!!

Kids are asking what in the world, and I have no clue where or how to explain!  I think this may be better suited for privacy.

I feel bad for the kids though, I mean.. they are losing a dad and gaining another mom?  How does that work, I wonder.  I'm sure little kids would have a hard time grasping this!!  It's nice to see that the majority of Bruce's kids support him and don't have major issues (on camera, at least).  I hope the other's in time will grasp things and be able to regain that family unit in a new way.

Today there has been a lot of talk about the new docuseries (Becoming Us) airing on ABC Family tonight about a 17 year old boy, Ben, who learns his parents are divorcing & his father wants to become a women, and how he struggles to come to terms with things!

Although, this all is interesting in some ways I struggle!  I struggle with the fact that I just can't think this is right to be putting your kids through.  I mean, if you feel you need to transition then do so, but why make other's feel like they were a part of your lie/cover-up and leave them wondering if the love you say you had was ever real; and to add kids to the mix to deal with it.. just isn't right, to me.

Things can't be changed for the people who are sharing their stories now, but hopefully others will see the difficulties that their family had to deal with and be real with their self before living a life they later will feel is a lie.

I wish them all happiness and the ability to connect and live life to the fullest!!

I'm curious what you all think??

Flowers Started Blooming Beautifully

The flowers around the Fish Pond have really bloomed this week!!  However, they are taking over somewhat!  I originally planted 4 of them, one at each corner; but look at them now...

The color is so pretty to me, but it will get one you if you rub against them.
I just had to get a close up picture of them this year, they are so vibrant looking.
It may be because it's a cloudy day, I don't know.

This year I got a surprise, a yellow one has bloomed even though I didn't plat one... Weird!
I do have a miniature sunflower that is yellow planted beside it, I guess when it multiplied somehow it gained the color from the sunflower??

I don't know much about flowers, but I wonder how it came to be and that's the only explanation that makes since.. lol  Does anyone else have an idea on how it happened?

Best kept Laundry Tip

Does your laundry stink? Do you have kids that wet the bed? Someone in your home sweat a lot??  If your answer was YES, I found something that has really helped me get the smell out of my laundry, and it only costs me  about $2.50 at the grocery store!

For YEARS I have been re-washing loads of laundry because they still had a sweaty or pee'ie smell to them.  At first I thought it was my detergent because I was buying cheaper or store brand, but even after switched to more expensive/name brand detergents I still found it happening more than I wanted.

My husband works outside and during the summer months he gets SWEATY/SMELLY (but don't tell him I said so .. lol) and   My youngest daughter had issues with bed waiting for many years.  I found it was hard to get the smell out of her clothes/blankets; especially those that she had neglected to bring to the laundry room.

My aunt and I were discussing how hard it was to get smells out of laundry one day; because she was diagnosed with TMAU a few years back and sweats a lot at work in the heat as well... and she told me this little old school secret (lol).

Vinegar!?  Who would have thought!?

Some of you may know that vinegar can work wonders on getting the smell out of your laundry, but until that moment.. I didn't!

So, I went to the store and bought me a bottle of white Vinegar, brought it home, washed my daughters load of laundry, washed a load of my husbands work clothes, dryed them all, and was surprisingly SHOCKED at the difference!!

You see, I am a skeptic! lol  I din't think it was going to work and also worried that my clothes were going to smell like vinegar ((ughh))...  But it worked and I couldn't smell any trace of the vinegar; and I have been adding it to my laundry every since!! :)

I thought..  this is The best kept laundry tip I've heard ((lol)).  This is going to make laundry days a lot easier/faster!!

However, now I don't purchase it in the small bottles, I get the big jug (about the size of a bottle of Clorox).

If you want to do this, I add about a cup (or same amount I use of Clorox in Whites) to the load when you first turn the water in, and I have poured in the Clorox spot on washer as well (not sure if I am supposed to or nor, it hasn't caused any issues thus-far).

I have to say, this has been a laundry tip that I will use for years to come, for sure!  :)

*P.S.
I have also learned that vinegar is an awesome cleaning agent as well!!

Just watched 50 Shades of Grey

WOW!  Somehow at this moment I think of how GRATEFUL I am that I decided not to go to the theater to watch this with a bunch of my friends (lol).  In my previous post The 50 Shades of Grey Hype I talked about how much the movie had been talked about before people watched it, yet I didn't see the same effect afterwards.

As I mentioned, I have never read any of the 50 Shades of Grey books prior to watching!

The movie was really good, I like how the captured the intensiveness that the characters were supposed to be feeling in the situations and how Christian started to become vulnerable in ways he couldn't understand.  My best friend has read all of the books and loved the movie; however, she said the movie didn't compare to the book.  I think most that have read it probably thought the same thing!

Books are always better because they can capture so much more with the words, in my opinion.  I have heard the same reviews from people with the comparison of the books/movies of the Twilight series.  I don't like to read; so, I wouldn't be able to compare them at all.

50 Shades of Grey was, in my opinion, a good adult movie; and I hope that they do movies for the other two books.  However, I DID NOT like the way the ended the movie... at all!!  I guess they did this to open the door for part 2, hopefully!

Have you watched the movie?  Read the book(s)?  What are your thoughts?

The 50 Shades of Grey Hype

When 50 Shades of Greg was about to come out, that's all I seen people talking about on Social Media; however, after I heard very little!  Did it not live up to the hype?

I haven't read any if the books, and mist people that I heard talking bad about the movie said it didn't live up to them.  Maybe this is why the talk was so diminished after watching.  I'm not sure, but I do wonder...

Have you seen it? Have you read the books? What are your reviews?

Did it live up to the hype in your opinion?

I've rented the movie and planning to watch later tonight... Then, I'll share my final thoughts!

Life Is Short

A friend of mine lost his granddaughter this week, 3 years old, I couldn't imagine.  As I have read post after post from him, his family, her mom, and many friends on Facebook it made me appreciate the time I have with my children even more!

The accident was horrible and according to the news the mother may face charges... I understand the law, but living with this is enough, I think!  Accidents happen, we are all human and make mistakes; and sometimes I think that the affects on you afterwards has much more impact than anything the law could throw at you!!

As I read her posts today my heart broke.. I can not even begin to imagine the pain she feels with losing her beautiful daughter; and her brother as well.  (If you pray, please add them to your prayers)

Life is short... Hold the ones you love and tell them as often as you can!!

Social Media is a great way to keep in touch, don't get me wrong; but pick up the phone and call the people you care about or visit if you're close by.  I've seen people telling their moms happy mothers day on Facebook all day, and I hope that they don't forget to make that call on Sunday and say it... not just tag them in a post.

I know some of you are thinking that you would never let that happen, but I am sure many will forget!

Birthdays, mothers/fathers day, and other special occasions deserve a call in my opinion; too many times I have seen people close to me crushed because they didn't get that call that they wanted to get so bad!

Life is short and we never know if we have tomorrow!  Make time to tell show the people you love, just how much you do!  If you pass tomorrow, don't leave them wondering if they were important to you or without memories that they'll cherish every day after!

Creative Tuesday: Etching

As most of you may know, I love creativity; and I have been trying lots of new projects.  I've seen a lot of projects on etching glass and it is beautiful, so, I had to try it!!

My daughter's friend is getting married next weekend so I decided to try making a set of wine glasses for them.

I decided that since this was my FIRST attempt at etching I shouldn't go out and spend a fortune on glasses that could possibly be messed up.  My local Dollar Tree had some cute wine glasses that I purchased... If I mess up, I only lost $2.

With this project I decided to make the glasses more customized with Mr. & Mrs. instead of the traditional "Bride" & "Groom" on them.

I cut out Mr. & Mrs. Mills with my machine on vinyl and peeled all of the letters out; thankfully, there wasn't any letters that needed a piece left inside the letter (e, o, g, etc).

Once I had the labels cut, I centered them on the glasses and got started...

I applied the etching cream and waited as the directions suggested.  When I washed it off I didn't think it had worked, to be honest, until I removed the vinyl.. but WOW, perfect!!

It's hard to see in the picture, but the lettering is perfect and turned out amazingly I thought.

I decorated them up with some cute bows that I had saved, which made them appear to be an expensive gift I had had made.. but I didn't.  Less than $20 invested (which I can use cream for many more projects) and less than 30 minutes of my time.

Personalized or thoughtful gifts, in my opinion, touch the heart in a different way!  I can't wait to give them to her and see her face.

I loved this project and plan to do another soon.  Next time, I promise to show the process in better detail, just incase you may want to tackle this project yourself.

Furious 7

Went to the theater tonight to watch Furious 7 and it was SOLD OUT for the 8 & 9 o'clock time slot; and there was only 1 seat left for the 10 o'clock time slot!  WOW!! That was disappointing & crazy!

I knew that Furious 7 would be a big turn out because the Fast & the Furious movies have become a huge hit; and the death of Paul Walker was so devastating!  It amazes me how technology allowed for finishing scenes for this movie; and from what I seen earlier (from a now, taken down clip) the farewell to Brian in the movie was touching and respectable. :(

I can't wait to see the full movie!!

Paul Walker was a great actor & appeared to be a great all-around guy in real life as well.  I have watched clips from interviews and just him talking about his charity, he was a really good guy that lost life too short!  I believe he could have done so much more in this world, if he'd only had more time!

The movie release of his last finished film, Hours, was set to release around the time of his death.  A film about a father that tries to keep his daughter alive during Hurricane Katrina.  I remember wanting to see this film so bad.  When it hit DVD, Red Box couldn't keep it in.  Finally, I got to watch it.. and it was a GREAT movie!  Although, I wish there would have been a "1 year later" clip added at the end!

You can watch the full movie below..

One of so many EXCELLENT movies that Paul Walker was apart of; in my opinion!
I can't wait to see the last film of his career, Furious 7, I'm sure it will be an emotion journey seeing his Final Ride! :(

Really, Neighbors With Benefits?

I'm a traditional type of girl, one who has always believed that one stays faithful and only gives themselves to the other from that point forward.  However, I have learned over the years that many people, even ones in committed relationships, don't totally agree!

We've all heard the term friends-with-benefits, but The A&E Channel (http://www.aetv.com/) has went beyond that with their new show Neighbors-With-Benefits; and it is a little over-the-top, for me. (lol)

Wow, who would have known that a neighbor of swingers existed ; and I would have NEVER dreamed there would be a TV show created about it!  I'm thinking this reality television show may have been better suited for HBO, Showtime, or another pay channel.  I don't want my children finding it by mistake!

Although.. I have to be honest, I will probably check out the first episode.. just because I want to hear their perspective on things.  I always find it interesting why people do the things they do!

To each their own, is what I say!

I can't say much about the show because all I have seen is a preview, but I do wonder how they got all of these people to air their personal business on television!?  All I know is, I hope none of them are the jealous type because, if so, there could be issues. lol

As we know, it's a reality show with producers; therefore, there has to be some drama!

Airing tonight, I wonder what ratings they will get and how many will follow; but time will tell!  I am a little curious though, will you watch?  Do you think this topic is too much for television?

Is Eagle Eye that far fetched?

I'm sitting here watching Eagle Eye, it really makes you think about the power of technology!

My husband and I got into this conversation about the possibility of a computer doing theses acts.  He doesn't believe it would be possible, but I don't know...

After taking classes for the past 4 years, I know that much of this is possible.  However, I know most of the movie is beyond possibilities a lot of the tracking could happen with a human working the other end!
In today's world of technology, people post way too much online.  Sharing locations and telling everyone what they are doing at all times.  Is this really safe?

A friend was telling me a while back about someone they knew who posted their plans to go away for the weekend, in reality notifying everyone that the house would be empty.  That weekend they robbed for everything they had!

The right information in the wrong hands could be a disaster!!

I love technology, but I try my best to post things after-the-fact; and with limits.  I think maybe this is my paranoid side working over-time.  Lol

However, like in the movie... when someone knows too much about you or wants to use technology for tracking/stalking behaviors it is possible.  More so than any of us probably know possible!

Eagle Eye is a great movie, but it can give us all alot to think about! AND when we do, answer me this... Is it really that far fetched?  I don't think so! :)

Dyslexia isn't as Scary as I thought

Yesterday everyone was talking about Jennifer Aniston  reveled that she had dyslexia.  The Doctors TV Show went into more details about it this morning as they discussed how she has revealed it.  As a parent whose child was recently diagnosed with dyslexia, it is nice to hear different experts talking and giving more details!  Using these outlets to get more information, resources, and ways to work around it will be helpful in this journey.  However, as I mentioned in my previous post (Feeling Helpless), there aren't many online ways to help (that I can find).

With all the discussion about Jennifer, it is amazing how many actors and famous people that have dyslexia; however, there are many forms and it affects people differently.  It seems that the key is finding out how you cope as an individual!  This may be the challenging part, I believe.

In my daughters case, I hope to be able to find what works best for her and allow her to learn ways to work around it.  It's scary, but I am going to find the resources that she needs to get a handle on it and be able to learn to read; and have a productive life ahead.

With all the new talk and information because of Aniston's revealing, I have a better understanding; and dyslexia isn't as scary as I thought!!

A New Hobby

Recently I got a new hobby when I became interested in Window Decals.  However, I learned quickly that my machine has major limitations!

I added the software I needed for more options, to my Christmas list; and my husband and kids got it for me! :)  I knew I was getting it, watched them wrap it, then had to wait 2 whole weeks to play with it... IT WAS TORTURE (lol)!!

Since then, I have been having a BLAST cutting new things!!

A few days ago I decided to cut an image that I had saved in my digital scrapping files that I use to doodle here and there.

After cutting the pink cancer symbol with gloves, I decided I wanted a background.. So I went with gold.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I love it!!

I have enjoyed doing different initials for windows, the wide variety of choices that are available, is amazing; and opens up the world of creativity! :)

I don't have my pictures right now because my desktop crashed recently, I Hope to share some others with you soon!!

Have a great Day!!

Feeling Helpless

Frustrated that I can't do anything and knowing I don't know where to start to find anyone to help...

These are the things that were rushing though my head as the doctor told me that he didn't think my daughter would ever learn to read, much better than she can right now (a second grade level)!  She has dyslexia with some other issues that make it hard when it comes to reading.

What will her future hold if she can't read? What will it be like as she enters middle school next year? Did I do something wrong? Is this really fact or does he not know what he's talking about?

The unstoppable thoughts that race won't turn off, they continue to make me think of how hard life could be for her if she isn't able to read. However, I don't want her to know that he said this because I want her to try her best to accomplish reading; and not have the thought that she can't do it in the back of her mind!

As a parent, I hate feeling helpless!

I have been searching for tools that could help her, but I have learned that there is a huge gap when it comes to finding educational materials, games, and programs for children in her age group!  Everything is focused on preschoolers, first - third, or older  school aged children.   There are some of these that focus on the skills she needs; however, because they are focused towards a different age it is either boring to her or she is completely lost.  I'm going to keep searching though, because I refuse to accept this!!

I have made an appointment with the school; and hopefully when we meet for her yearly assessment we can put a plan into place that better suits her needs; and this could help her accomplish this life goal!

Please keep us in your thoughts/prayers as tackle this in the upcoming days, week, and months to come! ((Thanks))
