Best kept Laundry Tip

Does your laundry stink? Do you have kids that wet the bed? Someone in your home sweat a lot??  If your answer was YES, I found something that has really helped me get the smell out of my laundry, and it only costs me  about $2.50 at the grocery store!

For YEARS I have been re-washing loads of laundry because they still had a sweaty or pee'ie smell to them.  At first I thought it was my detergent because I was buying cheaper or store brand, but even after switched to more expensive/name brand detergents I still found it happening more than I wanted.

My husband works outside and during the summer months he gets SWEATY/SMELLY (but don't tell him I said so .. lol) and   My youngest daughter had issues with bed waiting for many years.  I found it was hard to get the smell out of her clothes/blankets; especially those that she had neglected to bring to the laundry room.

My aunt and I were discussing how hard it was to get smells out of laundry one day; because she was diagnosed with TMAU a few years back and sweats a lot at work in the heat as well... and she told me this little old school secret (lol).

Vinegar!?  Who would have thought!?

Some of you may know that vinegar can work wonders on getting the smell out of your laundry, but until that moment.. I didn't!

So, I went to the store and bought me a bottle of white Vinegar, brought it home, washed my daughters load of laundry, washed a load of my husbands work clothes, dryed them all, and was surprisingly SHOCKED at the difference!!

You see, I am a skeptic! lol  I din't think it was going to work and also worried that my clothes were going to smell like vinegar ((ughh))...  But it worked and I couldn't smell any trace of the vinegar; and I have been adding it to my laundry every since!! :)

I thought..  this is The best kept laundry tip I've heard ((lol)).  This is going to make laundry days a lot easier/faster!!

However, now I don't purchase it in the small bottles, I get the big jug (about the size of a bottle of Clorox).

If you want to do this, I add about a cup (or same amount I use of Clorox in Whites) to the load when you first turn the water in, and I have poured in the Clorox spot on washer as well (not sure if I am supposed to or nor, it hasn't caused any issues thus-far).

I have to say, this has been a laundry tip that I will use for years to come, for sure!  :)

*P.S.
I have also learned that vinegar is an awesome cleaning agent as well!!

Just watched 50 Shades of Grey

WOW!  Somehow at this moment I think of how GRATEFUL I am that I decided not to go to the theater to watch this with a bunch of my friends (lol).  In my previous post The 50 Shades of Grey Hype I talked about how much the movie had been talked about before people watched it, yet I didn't see the same effect afterwards.

As I mentioned, I have never read any of the 50 Shades of Grey books prior to watching!

The movie was really good, I like how the captured the intensiveness that the characters were supposed to be feeling in the situations and how Christian started to become vulnerable in ways he couldn't understand.  My best friend has read all of the books and loved the movie; however, she said the movie didn't compare to the book.  I think most that have read it probably thought the same thing!

Books are always better because they can capture so much more with the words, in my opinion.  I have heard the same reviews from people with the comparison of the books/movies of the Twilight series.  I don't like to read; so, I wouldn't be able to compare them at all.

50 Shades of Grey was, in my opinion, a good adult movie; and I hope that they do movies for the other two books.  However, I DID NOT like the way the ended the movie... at all!!  I guess they did this to open the door for part 2, hopefully!

Have you watched the movie?  Read the book(s)?  What are your thoughts?

The 50 Shades of Grey Hype

When 50 Shades of Greg was about to come out, that's all I seen people talking about on Social Media; however, after I heard very little!  Did it not live up to the hype?

I haven't read any if the books, and mist people that I heard talking bad about the movie said it didn't live up to them.  Maybe this is why the talk was so diminished after watching.  I'm not sure, but I do wonder...

Have you seen it? Have you read the books? What are your reviews?

Did it live up to the hype in your opinion?

I've rented the movie and planning to watch later tonight... Then, I'll share my final thoughts!

Life Is Short

A friend of mine lost his granddaughter this week, 3 years old, I couldn't imagine.  As I have read post after post from him, his family, her mom, and many friends on Facebook it made me appreciate the time I have with my children even more!

The accident was horrible and according to the news the mother may face charges... I understand the law, but living with this is enough, I think!  Accidents happen, we are all human and make mistakes; and sometimes I think that the affects on you afterwards has much more impact than anything the law could throw at you!!

As I read her posts today my heart broke.. I can not even begin to imagine the pain she feels with losing her beautiful daughter; and her brother as well.  (If you pray, please add them to your prayers)

Life is short... Hold the ones you love and tell them as often as you can!!

Social Media is a great way to keep in touch, don't get me wrong; but pick up the phone and call the people you care about or visit if you're close by.  I've seen people telling their moms happy mothers day on Facebook all day, and I hope that they don't forget to make that call on Sunday and say it... not just tag them in a post.

I know some of you are thinking that you would never let that happen, but I am sure many will forget!

Birthdays, mothers/fathers day, and other special occasions deserve a call in my opinion; too many times I have seen people close to me crushed because they didn't get that call that they wanted to get so bad!

Life is short and we never know if we have tomorrow!  Make time to tell show the people you love, just how much you do!  If you pass tomorrow, don't leave them wondering if they were important to you or without memories that they'll cherish every day after!

A New Me: Autism Awareness

A New Me: Autism Awareness: I was a bit harsh in my post yesterday. I've since spoken to my dad and all is right in the world again. He has a way of making me feel ...
